Investigation 1: Penguin Habitats

Let’s investigate where the Adelie, Gentoo and Chinstrap penguins live in Antarctica, starting with the image below of Antarctic Sea Ice Cover.

Investigating Adelie Penguins in their Habitat

Now, we are going to compare the mean sea ice map to habitat maps to better understand these penguins. Let’s start with Adelie penguins. The image below on the left shows average sea ice cover around Antarctica. The image below on the right highlights where Adelie penguins live.
